FilAm is ANCCs 2020 Certified Nurse Awardee

An Ilonggo and Capizeno, Filipino American RON BILLANO ORDONA, DNP, FNP-BC, RN-BC, was recognized by the American Nurses Association – California for receiving the American Nurses Credentialing Center`s (ANCC) 2020 Certified Nurse Award!

Dr. Ordona, President of the Northern California Chapter of Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA), is a Nurse Practitioner in private practice focused on home-based primary care for the homebound older adult population. He conducts and supports research and translation of evidence into practice that addresses the needs of the vulnerable homebound elderly.

This year’s winners demonstrate the value and impact that specialty certification has on nursing practice and patient outcomes. They demonstrate that, through certification, they can provide superior care to their patients and become even greater assets to the healthcare organizations at which they work. They continue to contribute to the advancement of nursing in their specialty areas through innovation, collaboration, leadership and professional risk-taking, and patient-centered care.

The AMERICAN NURSES CREDENTIALING CENTER (ANCC) Award is awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This Four-year designation is the highest level of recogniütion that nursing services can obtain. The ANCC also awards Magnet® status to hospitals that exhibit exemplary patient outcomes and satisfaction, have impressive nurse-to-patient ratios, and attract and retain the best nursing staff.
